This explains Mushkin’s guidelines to how it collects, manages and processes data. It governs the purposes and lawful grounds for which data Mushkin processes data.

WHAT IS GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will apply from 25 May 2018, creates consistent data protection rules across Europe. It applies to companies that are based in the European Union and global companies that process personal data about individuals in the EU.

In summary, the GDPR gives consumers the rights of access, rectification, automated decision making and profiling, as well as the rights to erasure, restrict processing, data portability and object.

We welcome the implementation of GDPR as it is an important step to enabling and empowering individual privacy rights.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC CHANGES THAT WILL AFFECT ME AS A Mushkin SERVICES USER?

Yes. In a conscientious effort to inform our users about how we collect and use your personal information, as well as how you have control over the way we do so, we are updating our terms and conditions of use as well as our privacy policy.

Effective 25 May 2018, all versions of our software and services that do not meet the GDPR regulations will be retired and no longer be usable or valid.

As we look to further reinforce data privacy, we may seek your consent to receive our marketing newsletters. Such requests for consent may be found in our updated terms and conditions; in our upcoming communications and in the installation procedure for our new software updates.

Q: What constitutes personal data?

A: Any information related to a natural person/data subject that can directly or indirectly identify that person.

Some examples are:

·        Name, email, address & phone number

·        Personal Info (sexual orientation, racial identity)

·        Bank details

Q: Who is affected by GDPR?

A: The GDPR not only applies to organizations located within the EU but it will also apply to organizations located outside of the EU if they offer goods or services to, or monitor the behavior of, EU data subjects.

Q: What are the additional controls I have over my personal data on Mushkin software and services?

A: We now offer greater transparency by explaining our data collection and data processing in our terms. Additionally, users are given greater control by providing for specific types of marketing the user may choose to receive.
